Last November, Ross Action Committee, based in Ross-on-Wye, took delivery of a new accessible minibus from GM Coachwork.
It will provide transport to help the blind, the elderly, the housebound and disabled people in the town to go on trips, to do their shopping and to retain their independence. The minibus has been funded by a campaign that raised £40,000.
At the handover in Ross-on-Wye, multiple speeches were made in Market Place to thank, and to show appreciation for the work and dedication, of those that made the New Action Bus a reality.
“Mobility is a wonderful thing if you have it,” says Reverend David Bowen, Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Herefordshire. “I see the best and the worst things that can happen in a community, and this minibus is one of the best.”
Ross Action Committee Chairman David Rose adds: “The first minibus we bought many decades ago cost £2,000. We still need donations to keep the wheels turning, but I have seen Bus President Rosemary Digby’s determination and I am not surprised that she has succeeded in obtaining this vehicle.”
