The routeone Awards will move for 2024, organiser Diversified Communications has announced. It comes as the industry’s premier recognition scheme opens to nominations.
Venue for the presentation evening on Wednesday 13 November will be The Vox at Resorts World Birmingham. On the NEC campus, The Vox increases guest capacity and is located on the top floor of Resorts World. Courtesy coaches will run from and to other nearby hotels for attendees’ convenience.
Trophies in 16 categories will again be presented, with the evening featuring a three-course meal and entertainment. This year sees an amendment to the two Best Use of Technology categories, with those now separately recognising coach and bus, rather than observing a fleet size split.
A list of categories, details of how to nominate, and further information can be found on the event website. Those who nominate by 29 March will be entered into a draw for a £500 advertising spend with routeone, which includes recruitment space.
The routeone Awards align with Euro Bus Expo, which will be held at the NEC Birmingham on 12-14 November. Diversified reports strong interest in the industry trade show as members of the sector look to reconnect in an environment dedicated to coach, bus and minibus.
Seven senior industry figures make up the routeone Awards judging panel: Joan Aitken, David Cattermole, Richard Delahoy, Nigel Eggleton, Mark Fowles, Graham Russell, and Norman Thomas. Opening of nominations is the first stage that will see them called upon to make final decisions in each category late this summer.
Return of the routeone Awards at a new venue for 2024 follows an acclaimed presentation evening in 2023.
Speaking about the opening step in identifying this year’s winners, Event Director Helen Conway says: “We are very pleased to set in motion the first stage of the 2024 routeone Awards. It is an opportunity for members of the coach and bus industry to put forward its best people and businesses to get the recognition that they deserve.
“Preparations are well underway to ensure that the sector sees another first-class presentation evening in November, this year at a new location. When coupled to the expected strong return of Euro Bus Expo at the adjacent NEC Birmingham, it is already looking like being a week to remember for the industry.”
