Shuttle Buses of Kilwinning has purchased a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with low-floor Strata LF bodywork, supplied by Mellor (01706 860610).
It is for use on a Strathclyde Partnership for Transport tendered service that will see it work 17 hours per day, seven days a week, and hence fuel consumption and reliability were at the top of the operator’s list of considerations, says MD David Granger.
Economy is further helped by the Strata LF’s recent certification as a Low Emission Bus, which delivers a significant uplift in BSOG payments in Scotland.
“Shuttle Buses required a bespoke interior and layout, which we were easily able to offer as the vehicle is completely versatile and built at our factory in Rochdale,” says Mellor National Sales Manager Lorna Miller (pictured, left).
