Spaces remain open for the Young Bus Managers Network (YBMN) autumn conference in Liverpool on 18-19 October, for which more than 50 delegates have already confirmed their attendance.
Following the launch of the first tranche of bus franchising in Greater Manchester on 24 September, Stephen Rhodes, Director of Bus at Transport for Greater Manchester, and Zachary McAskill, Head of Franchise Mobilisation for Stagecoach, will speak about the process – in a city where deregulation is currently being considered.
Warrington’s Own Buses Chair, Cllr Cathy Mitchell, will also air her views on the future of buses as the operator prepares to introduce a full electric fleet.
From the operator Vectare will be Head of Commercial Adam Hemmingway and co-founder Peter Nathanail to talk about they have grown their business as young managers. Also speaking will be Jordon Johnson-Symonds from Stagecoach and Hayley Russell from Flixbus.
An interactive workshop will again be part of the programme, while delegates will also hear some news regarding the development of the network.
YBMN was founded in 2008 as an informal not-for-profit organisation and started to hold twice yearly conferences from 2011. It has Roger French, Martijn Gilbert and Alex Hornby as patrons.
