Stagecoach East is celebrating passengers and shining a spotlight on its role in the community with a new campaign called Because of the Bus.
The campaign features a video sharing stories from real passengers across Cambridge and Bedfordshire who promote the benefits of bus travel.
Ambassadors highlight the role that Stagecoach bus services have in their lives – such as reconnecting with loved ones after the pandemic, transporting them to and from education, work and leisure activities, and how bus travel contributes to a reduced carbon footprint.
Bedfordshire resident Suella Oduka is one passenger who stars in the new campaign. Commenting on her involvement, she says: “It’s been fantastic to take part in Stagecoach East’s Because of the Bus campaign and showcase the ways in which the bus supports me on a daily basis. I rely on the bus to get to work and the Stagecoach app is so easy to use; it’s great for live updates on the buses and timetables. I simply couldn’t get around without the bus.”
Local radio presenter Tony Barnfield also features in the Because of the Bus campaign. “Wherever I want to go, I can easily hop on a bus because there is always one going where I need to get to,” he says. “For me, the bus is absolutely wonderful to get out and about and I recommend it to anyone. It’s the healthy and green way to travel.”
Darren Roe, Managing Director of Stagecoach East, adds: “We love hearing from our passengers about the positive difference bus travel makes to them, so it’s wonderful to be able to bring those stories to life with our new Because of the Bus campaign.
“We are passionate about putting our customers first and are delighted to give them a voice through the initiative. I hope it will encourage more people to stay connected, reduce their carbon footprint and discover their local area safely using our services.”
