Transdev Blazefield is to introduce Omnibus’ cloud-native depot allocation solution OmniDAS to its bus operations in the north of England after good results at the operator’s newest subsidiary, Team Pennine.
The supplier’s depot allocation system for real-time driver and vehicle management will support the group to “increase flexibility and efficiency of multi-depot working” and reduce costs.
It will cover the nine subsidiaries of Transdev Blazefield including Coastliner, York and Country, The Harrogate Bus Company, Flyer, The Keighley Bus Company and Team Pennine, The Burnley Bus Company, Rosso, and The Blackburn Bus Company. OmniDAS will be rolled out in the Harrogate depot first, with the other locations to follow.
Says Vitto Pizzuti, Operations Director at Transdev Blazefield: “We needed visibility of all depots individually and collectively to improve efficiency and manage resourcing issues such as driver shortages.
“Cloud-native OmniDAS will provide the flexibility to analyse and drill down into the data of all depots, giving full transparency of all our driver and vehicle resources across the entire operation and comply with legal requirements as well as company policies and procedures. Also, working from one centralised system ensures consistent processes and data integrity.
“Proven in operation at Team Pennine, OmniDAS brings the established functionality of the legacy system with enhanced reporting capabilities and can be accessed from anywhere.”
Adds Peter Crichton, Founder of Omnibus: “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Transdev Blazefield. OmniDAS will allow Transdev to spend more time on service provision without having to worry about time-consuming administration.”
