Transdev is offering free travel across its network to serving military and veterans on for Armed Forces Day (25 June).
The offer extends to current forces personnel, cadet volunteers and veterans from the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force with a Forces ID card. Alternatively, members can wear their uniform or display medals.
The operator hopes it will encourage past and present members of the military to attend events honouring the military across the North of England. The 2022 national event will take place in Scarborough and will be served by Transdev’s Coastliner buses from Leeds, Tadcaster, York and Malton.
The offer coincides with industrial action on the railway network. Transdev will offer a normal Saturday service to ensure alternative transport is available for those attending events, though advises users to allow extra time for journeys due to busy services.
“As always, we are delighted to show our support for our armed forces,” says Alex Hornby, Transdev CEO. “All of us at Transdev are keen to show how much we value what our service men and women do for our country. Offering free travel to serving military and veterans on this day is our way of making it easier for them to attend the many events taking place across the North.”
