North of England operator Transdev is celebrating National Apprenticeship week by launching a three new engineering apprenticeships across its Yorkshire and Lancashire depots.
The three-year apprenticeships will lead to qualifications as a Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician.
The Apprenticeships are delivered through the operator’s in-house training and recruitment division, titled ‘The Acadamy by Transdev’ which aims to train, develop and retain new recruits.
In addition to the new apprenticeships Transdev is celebrating those already enrolled across its departments, who are beginning training in 2021.
“I’m studying for a Level 5 Diploma in People Management – it’s an HR qualification developed by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD),” says Operations Director Vitto Pizzuti, one of those enrolled and ready to start training this year. “I’m expecting the coursework to be challenging at times, but also rewarding in that it’ll equip me with more skills and confidence to lead and develop our amazing team of people throughout the operations side of our business.”
Transdev is also recruiting for a variety of roles based across its operating centres in Lancashire and Yorkshire.
