Network Warrington is getting its claws stuck into south Warrington and will be making wholesale improvements to the network.
It will be investing in 13 new ADL Enviro200s via low interest borrowing from its council owner. Additionally, fares for 2018 have been reduced and/or frozen.
The introduction of the Cheshire Cat, a newly branded network that will service the south of Warrington, will be later this year.
The proposed changes will see routes in the south network simplified, improved and will also see the introduction of a new, “cutting-edge” bus fleet.
The Cheshire Cat brand – created by Best Impressions – will include wi-fi, skylights, extra leg room, comfy seats and USB ports.
The improvements and changes will be announced next month with a public roadshow give users the chance to comment on the changes before they are confirmed.
Network Warrington MD Ben Wakerley says: “This latest round of improvements follow our Dallam discount, hospital frequency increase, Pops network and ‘£1.70 to Westy’ initiatives.
