Tynedale Group Travel will bring an end to its coach holiday activities when the 2022 season concludes and focus on its growing sports team and private hire work.
In what it describes as “a difficult decision,” the operator has cited a post-COVID-19 level of product and service delivery by hotels and attractions that has often fallen short of the standard required by both the Haltwhistle business and its customers as the reason for withdrawing from tours. However, in a statement, Tyndale acknowledges that the travel and hospitality industry is struggling to recover from the effects of the pandemic.
Tynedale will wrap up its 2022 coach touring season with a departure to Llandudno on 11 December. This year’s schedule majors on UK and Ireland destinations, although tours further afield had also previously been operated and provided. Directors Andy and Cath Sinclair have thanked customers for its tours and the suppliers and staff that have helped with the delivery of that work over 30 years.
Mr and Mrs Sinclair stress that the Tynedale brand and business will still be present on the road “as our company grows from strength to strength, offering VIP travel to the North East’s sports teams and corporate market.”
They add that a million-pound investment in new team coaches will see the delivery of new vehicles to commence long-term contracts with Premier League football teams from next month onwards.
