Ultrafabrics, which supplies high-quality performance fabrics to the coach and bus sector, has announced a new collaboration with colour expert Pantone to inspire the use of the latter’s Color of the Year 2023 – Pantone 18-750 Viva Magenta.
The collaboration will see Ultrafabrics’ colour of the year palette featured in Pantone Connect – a platform that lets designers access Pantone colour libraries, values, and navigation tools – with a selection of complementary Ultrafabrics colour swatches that sit “seamlessly” with Viva Magenta.
Through 2023, the collaboration between the two companies will deepen through a series of global interactive events, where the pair will share expertise on how colour can be implemented in a variety of spaces and how Viva Magenta can be applied.
Ultrafabrics will also launch “special edition colours” inspired by Viva Magenta throughout next year.
“This year’s Pantone Color of the Year is powerful and empowering,” says Laurie Pressman, Vice-President of the Pantone Color Institute. “It is an animated crimson red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and boundless shade that is a stand-out statement. Pantone 18-1750 Viva Magenta welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a colour that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all.”
Adds Barry Silverman, Vice President of Marketing and Branding at Ultrafabrics: “The Pantone Color of the Year is a critical driver of design. Together with Pantone, we’re looking forward to helping designers bring cultural timeliness to timeless design.
“The collaboration will help the design industry connect to the colour zeitgeist in a sustainable and enduring way.”
Ultrafabrics’ special edition colours will be released within its collections UF Select Montage, Brisa, and its bio-based fabric, Volar Bio.
