Wealden Minibuses of Heathfield has marked its first anniversary by stating a desire to grow to lead its field in the Sussex area.
After taking delivery of its second used Ford Transit this week, the operator is promising further expansion and plans to set up an on-site training centre.
Owner and Transport Manager Chris Muzzall has 34 years’ experience in the coach and bus industry, according to Wealden Minibuses.
Having started as a bus driver with Brighton and Hove Buses in 1991, he qualified as a Transport Manager (TM) in 2017 and teaches Driver CPC and TM refresher training.
With the 71-plate Transit doubling the size of the fleet, the operator now wants its operation to become the “No 1 choice of minibus hire in Sussex and the surrounding area”.
“The future for the operation is to increase the fleet size to accommodate demand, and set up a training school within the new office building in the new year,” says Mr Muzzall.
He adds: “After one year as an operator, we have established ourselves very well, with our first school contract signed and sealed, regular rail replacement services undertaken and return custom for private hire and airport transfers.
“We have worked tirelessly to give the best service possible.”
Mr Muzzall’s wife, Melissa, has just joined the business and gained her D1 entitlement, working in the office and driving to fulfil the school contract.
“We are so excited for our future and feel honoured to have come so far in such a short space of time. Long may our success continue!” Mr Muzzall adds.
