Zemo Partnership will hold its first in-person zero-emission bus workshop of 2021 on Thursday 7 October. It will be staged at the Glynhill Hotel and Leisure Club in Paisley in partnership with McGill’s Buses and examine the challenges and solutions to the rollout of battery-electric buses in the Greenock operator’s fleet.
Attendance is free and delegates can register via the dedicated page on Eventbrite. Proceedings will commence at 1000hrs. The agenda includes presentations, a question-and-answer session and a site visit to McGill’s depot at Paisley via a member of its fleet of Yutong E12 buses.
Yutong’s UK agent Pelican Bus and Coach, supplier of the 55 E12s that have commenced delivery to McGill’s, and infrastructure and finance provider Zenobe Energy are supporting the workshop. The focus will be on how McGill’s and its project partners have worked together to begin the transition towards zero-emission buses. Speakers will be:
- Ian Downie, Head of Yutong Bus UK
- Steve Meersman, Founder Director, Zenobe Energy
- Ralph Roberts, Chief Executive, McGill’s Buses
- TBC: A representative of Glasgow City Council.
The event will wrap up at 1400hrs after lunch. Zemo says it is exploring options to run a shuttle bus from and to Glasgow city centre for those arriving by train, and considering opportunities to stream the workshop online.
Zemo is also currently examining where further zero-emission bus workshop events can be held. One is potentially to be staged in November or December involving hydrogen fuel cell-electric vehicles.
