Abellio London has committed to working with 21st Century Fleet Systems – a Journeo company – for a further three years following the renewal of a framework agreement. It will see Abellio become one of the first London operators to benefit from 4G video transfer.
Under the contract, 21st Century will continue to provide CCTV and associated equipment on all new Abellio London buses, along with those transferred into its fleet via competitive route tendering.
In addition, approximately 200 vehicles already fitted with the Journeo Edge intelligent IoT gateway will be connected into a new cloud-based video management system called Journeo Transit, which uses 4G video transfer.
The Journeo Transit platform also allows Abellio London to connect a wide array of other on-bus systems into a central cloud server. Doing so offers fast, secure and real-time access to information, as well as permitting the integration of future technology options. A number of those are already included within the framework.
Says Journeo Chief Executive Officer Russ Singleton: “We are delighted that Abellio has asked us to continue providing support services for its safety-critical video systems and to supply our innovative solutions for its London bus fleet.
“Our research and development, engineering network and dedicated London support team have helped Abellio to consistently achieve first place rankings in Transport for London’s measurement of CCTV systems’ availability. Our latest IoT systems provide further enhancements, placing Abellio among the most advanced public transport fleet operators.”
