Penrith operator Alba Travel has extended its football travel portfolio by securing contracts to provide team coaches for Annan Athletic FC in Scottish League Two and Carlisle United FC in Football League Two.
The two clubs join non-league Workington AFC and Penrith AFC in using Alba Travel. The operator says it also hopes to carry supporters of both league clubs in the future. The Carlisle United team will travel on a Scania Irizar coach (pictured), while Annan Athletic players and officials will utilise a Scania Irizar or a Yutong TC9.
Alba has commissioned conversion work on a Scania Irizar from AD Coach Systems for the purpose of the new business.
Director and Owner Allan Holmes says: “These are great contracts to secure, especially in the current climate where private hire is minimal due to coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to forming a strong bond with both clubs over the next few years. The new contracts are thanks to the hard work of the team at Alba Travel.”
