ASD Coaches adds a Volvo B8R Sunsundegui SB3

As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, ASD Coaches of Strood has taken delivery of a B8R with Sunsundegui SB3 bodywork, supplied by Volvo Bus (02476 210250).

The decision to go with an SB3 was taken following experience with an earlier Volvo Sunsundegui. The operator found that demand for a higher capacity was growing, particularly on school contracts, and the 72-seater B8R SB3 suited the bill.

As ASD is based in Kent, a coach that satisfies the London ULEZ was also important, while a single-decker was necessary to allow access to all the capital’s bridges and tunnels.

Additionally, the high capacity allows the operator to carry two classes’ worth of children – making it attractive for school trips.
