Bakers Dolphin back on the road and ‘as safe as possible’

Weston-super-Mare based operator Bakers dolphin has resumed coach holidays and claims that its passengers felt ‘extremely safe’.

At the end of July the company operated what was believed to be its first commercial outing since March, a coachload of passengers to the North Devon coast. A further 16 holidays have since been completed.

To keep passengers safe, measures such as air filtration systems, mandatory face coverings and reduced vehicle capacities have been enforced. The firm was awarded VisitEngland’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark in recognition of its compliance with public health guidance in the wake of coronavirus COVID-19.

Says Sales and Marketing Director Amanda Harrington: “We want to encourage people back on board and assure them that they can travel safely in style and comfort. We believe that our coaches are as safe as they can possibly be.”

Some of the first passengers to take a holiday have expressed their confidence in the company’s safety measures, including Charles Hewson, who is 81 and suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, who alongside his wife Diana Hewson says ‘didn’t feel concerned for our health in any way at all.’
