Elgar Coaches of Lower Broadheath, Worcestershire, has upgraded its workshop facilities with the purchase of a set of T8AC mobile column lifts from Totalkare. They have arrived as the operator moves premises to Peachley Court Business Park, which offers more space for in-house maintenance facilities.
A relationship between Elgar Coaches and Totalkare has been in place for many years. Working legacy models in the operator’s garage include the SVL and RG, which was first manufactured by what is today the Totalkare business in 1980.
The T8AC models recently delivered give greater flexibility thanks to adjustable forks and the ability to connect lift columns in configurations of four or six to accommodate two- or three-axle coaches. The former is important as Elgar Coaches operates a mixed fleet of vehicles, and the adjustable forks accommodate a variety of wheel diameters. The T8AC system has a lifting capacity of 7,500kg per column.
Says Elgar Coaches Partner Nick Portlock: “We are excited about the new addition to our workshop. We are sure that the T8AC mobile column lifts will save us time and the costs associated with frequently servicing a mixed fleet of passenger transport vehicles, which in turn will enable us to have as many of our vehicles on the road as possible.
“We have a long-established relationship with Totalkare and are pleased with its products and quality of service support.”
Totalkare Area Sales Manager George Georgiou adds: “It is important to us that our customers receive a brilliant service at every stage. It is continuing relationships such as this that demonstrates the quality of what we do at Totalkare, and the value of our mobile column lifts to heavy duty vehicle workshops.”
Like Elgar Coaches’ existing mobile column lifts, the T8AC set will be supported by Totalkare via a comprehensive service contract.
