Transdev Blazefield has partnered with a pair of air ambulance charities, launching work to raise funds and awareness for the North West Air Ambulance Charity and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance across this year.
Air ambulance charities are reliant entirely on donations and do not receive funding from the government or the NHS. Each team consists of a pilot, a qualified technical crew member, a consultant doctor with accident and emergency experience and critical care paramedics, as well as ground and support staff.
Support from Transdev Blazefield for the two air ambulance organisations will capture internal fundraising events throughout 2026, while representatives from each charity have been visiting the operator’s depots to meet colleagues and raise awareness.
Fundraising will start with charity walks in Lancashire and Yorkshire at the end of June. Those efforts will be along routes covered by Transdev Blazefield buses and will be undertaken by members of driving, engineering, office and support teams.
Speaking about the work, Project and Marketing Manager Matt Burley says: “We are proud to have partnered with North West Air Ambulance Charity and Yorkshire Air Ambulance as our charities of the year.
“The organisations were selected following a vote by colleagues across our leadership teams in Yorkshire and Lancashire, with strong support reflecting the importance of the work they do in our communities.
“The partnerships will begin with three charity walks at the end of the month, two in Lancashire and one in Yorkshire, following our bus routes. Colleagues and their families will be invited to take part, helping to raise both awareness and funds for the charities.”
Adds Yorkshire Air Ambulance Regional Fundraising Manager Tessa Klemz: “We are delighted to have been chosen as one of Transdev’s charities of the year and would like to thank everyone involved for their support.
“Partnerships like this not only help to raise vital funds, but also increase awareness of the lifesaving work our crews carry out every day. We are looking forward to working with Transdev throughout the year and wish everyone taking part in the charity walks the very best of luck.”
