Three employees have been honoured at a special ceremony for reaching 50 years of service with Arriva North West.
Dennis Holding, 69, Stuart Poole, 71, and Ken Cherry, 69, were presented with the accolade at the Long Service Awards ceremony at Aintree Racecourse on Merseyside.
Dennis a relief traffic supervisor/driver, Stuart a part-time driver and Ken a bus driver, all started their careers with the company in 1968 as bus conductors.
Ken Cherry says: “I’m delighted to have received my award for 50 years of service with Arriva. When I started as a young man in 1967, it was a job that I needed in order to buy my first house. Since then, I’ve never looked back and I can honestly say that it’s been a real pleasure to work for such a great company.”
Phil Stone, MD of Arriva North West, says: “Our annual Long Service Awards is probably the most enjoyable night of the year in the company. It’s fantastic to see such long service and loyalty to the company, and it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of Dennis, Ken, and Stuart’s achievements and the celebration of their success.
