BYD France donates 150,000 masks to support operators around Paris

BYD France is supporting public transport authorities and operators in the Île-de-France region by donating 150,000 face masks to help protect workers against coronavirus COVID-19.

The BYD-made masks were delivered from the manufacturer’s Beauvais production facility on 22 April via a zero-emission BYD eBus to IDF Mobilités, the principal Île-de-France transport co-ordinator.

BYD says it will make further donations to transport operators in France. It follows a repurposing of production at locations in China to manufacture masks and other PPE.

BYD says its masks comply with French and European health certifications.

Leevon Tian, Managing Director of BYD France, says: “A committed company like BYD has a duty not only to mobilise itself in response to the shortage of masks, but also to support those who work every day for the well-being of the community.

“For drivers, passengers and everyday road users, safety is our priority.”
