Entries have started to arrive for the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) photo competition, which aims to showcase the coach and bus industry at its best throughout 2020.
The contest is open to all and entries will be accepted until 20 December. A top prize of £1,000 for the overall winner is on offer. In other categories, hundreds of pounds in holiday and shopping vouchers is to be won.
This month’s winner is from Alistair Friar (above). It shows an East Yorkshire Alexander Dennis Enviro200 at dusk. Alistair’s work also features in the highly commended category, with a view of a Wrightbus Gemini double-decker from the same operator after dark.
Meanwhile, coaching action shots have been contributed by David Barrow in the form of two Oxford Tube Van Hool Astromegas passing at Gloucester Green in the city and a National Express Caetano Levante on its way to Plymouth.
Last but not least among this month’s highly commended entries are a picture showing a Spencer Graham Coaches Plaxton Panther dropping off at Carlisle Lake District Airport, and one of a Selwyns Travel Van Hool meeting at Qatar Airways Boeing 787 at Manchester Airport early one morning. All can be seen below.
CPT is keen to see entries depicting a working industry, and it has set aside £500 of holiday vouchers for the winner of that category.
The judging panel for the overall winners will include CPT CEO Graham Vidler, External Relations Manager Tom Bartošák-Harlow and a professional photographer. The results will be announced in routeone in January 2021, with monthly winners and highly commended entries published on an ongoing basis.
