Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has appointed David Conway as Head of Operations. He joins from fellow municipal Cardiff Bus, where he had been Service Delivery Director since August 2020.
Mr Conway traces his bus industry career back to 2008, when he joined the Stagecoach graduate training scheme. That saw him work across the country in areas including Devon, Greater Manchester, Lincolnshire, and South Wales. He also contributed to the London 2012 Olympics and held a Director-level role with Stagecoach prior to joining Cardiff Bus.
While latterly in the Welsh capital, Mr Conway was heavily involved with the introduction of 55 Yutong battery-electric buses into service. NCT is now amid a similar task with the same manufacturer’s vehicles.
With his new employer Mr Conway will take responsibility for the operations, service delivery, and service planning departments.
Commenting on his appointment, he says: “After eight-and-a-half years across the border in Wales, I am delighted to have returned home to join an operator that inspired me to take up a career in the bus industry, and I am looking forward to getting involved in the continuing success of NCT.”
Adds Managing Director David Astill: “I am delighted to welcome David Conway to NCT. He has amassed a wealth of operational experience at a senior level with Stagecoach and Cardiff Bus. Mixed with his knowledge of the Nottingham area, I am sure that David will make a positive contribution to the future success of this business.”
