EO Charging has named Richard Staveley (pictured) as its CEO. He succeeds Charlie Jardine, who will move to the role of President and Founder with a focus on growing the charging solutions provider’s presence in North America and other global markets.
While EO Charging works with depot-based fleets, Mr Staveley also serves as Chair of Zest Eco, an electric vehicle charge point infrastructure provider in the public charging sector.
He brings to EO Charging what the business says is “a transformative approach and success in driving growth” within private equity- and venture capital-funded companies in the e-mobility, Internet of Things, and telecommunications areas.
Change to its senior leadership team leaves EO Charging set to expand its business in North America and Europe while maintaining its position in the fast-developing UK market. It completed a US$80 million funding round in 2023, backed by strategic investments from Vortex Energy and Zouk Capital. Mr Staveley is a non-executive Director of Zouk.
“This shift aligns with EO Charging’s strategic aim to become the go-to partner in electric vehicle fleet charging globally as the adoption of zero-emission transportation continues to gain momentum,” the business adds in a statement.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Staveley says: “I am delighted to take on the CEO role at such a pivotal time for the EV charging industry. Leveraging our market position as a foundation for growth and with the support of our committed investors, we have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us.
“EO Charging is well positioned and well prepared to address the challenges and growing demands of this fast-expanding sector. I am excited to lead the company through its next phase of development, focusing on innovation, charging-as-a-service, and market expansion.”
Mr Jardine will soon relocate to North America. He says it is “a real privilege” to hand over the position of CEO to Mr Staveley.
“His leadership and strong investor backing place EO in an excellent position to advance on our goal and further galvanise our presence as the go-to partner for fleet electrification globally,” adds Mr Jardine.
