Go-Ahead is keeping children busy during school shutdowns with bus-related home activity sheets and an online ‘bus school’ hosting educational activities.
Families can print off the activity sheets for free to educate children on the vital role of buses while at home.
Go South Coast kickstarted the idea, as it receives year-round requests from parents to give depot tours to children.
The online ‘bus school’ was launched for enthusiastic passengers in the Isle of Wight, Bournemouth and Southampton, with bus-themed worksheets on mathematics, English and art.
Go-Ahead Customer Director Katy Taylor says: “Buses don’t just take people from A to B, they are a lifeline for many people.
“We need to continue to support our local communities during these troubled times in any capacity that we can.”
Go-Ahead has seen its passenger numbers shrink by 90% since the coronavirus COVID-19 crisis began. It continues to run services nationwide to transport key workers.
