Go North East (GNE) recruitment and training worker Nathan Carr has been recognised by the company after spending time while furloughed to support the North East Ambulance Service.
Nathan provided support for its scheduled care service, working alongside ambulance staff to clean and drive patient transport vehicles.
Nathan, who has now returned to GNE, is considering future volunteering roles with the ambulance service.
Says Nathan: “I wanted to do something that would benefit the community and this provided me with an opportunity to try something I would never have otherwise had the chance to do.
“These guys are out on the frontline but what really stuck out for me was how willing they are to just get on with their jobs and put themselves second to everyone else. Overall, it’s been an absolutely amazing experience,”
