Go South West has continued its support of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) as the organisation opened a new hub at HMS Drake in Plymouth.
The Go-Ahead Group subsidiary has established close ties with the region’s armed forces, and since 2019 a double-decker in its fleet has carried a special livery to support RNRMC.
As Go South West is a corporate supporter of the charity, its Managing Director Richard Stevens (pictured, second from right) was invited to the opening of the new hub. He attended along with the adorned Alexander Dennis Enviro400.
Mr Stevens says: “The armed forces play a big part in our community, and many of our team are former serving members of the forces themselves, so it is important to us to recognise and support that.
“It is a privilege to be invited to the opening of a hub that will make such a difference to people.”
Adds Naval Base Commander for Devonport, Commodore Peter Coulson ADC (pictured, right): “The opening of this new drop-in centre for the naval base in HMS Drake’s main catering facility will become a focal point for serving personnel and their families.
“I would like to thank RNRMC for all its support to the ships and units that frequent Devonport and know that their continued efforts are greatly appreciated across the whole naval service.”
