Marketer Claire Rawlinson in London Marathon fundraiser

Marketing strategist Claire Rawlinson (pictured) is asking industry colleagues and friends to support her fundraising efforts for Asthma and Lung UK ahead of her competing in the London Marathon on Sunday 2 October.

Claire has worked almost exclusively with the coach and bus sector for over 20 years. She aims to raise £2,000 for the charity, and at the time of writing was 77% to that total.

Asthma and Lung UK supports asthma sufferers and aims to find a cure via its funding of research. Claire’s son Stanley is affected by asthma, as is her sister. The charity has supported Claire and Stanley with his condition.

Speaking about her decision to raise funds via the London Marathon, Claire says: “Three years ago I wouldn’t have run for the bus, and then I found running to keep my mind fit.

“I applied for a charity place with Asthma and Lung UK, which has been there for Stanley throughout his journey so far, even recently supporting him via its WhatsApp service when Stanley was admitted to hospital with a severe asthma attack.

“I want to give back and challenge myself to run 26 miles. Every donation I get means I can’t back out!”

During her career Claire has worked with operators including Blackpool Transport, First Bus, Go-Ahead Group, Stagecoach and most recently the Association of Local Bus Managers. She has also worked with Coachmarque to help the coach sector raise its profile.

Donations can be made via a dedicated JustGiving page.
