National Express has appointed Tom Stables as MD UK Bus, alongside his responsibilities for the group’s UK coach business and German rail operations.
It follows the departure of current UK Bus MD Paul Thomas to become Stagecoach East Scotland MD (see page 62). He has worked for Nat Ex for 15 years.
Kevin Gale has been appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer for National Express’ UK and German business units, responsible for operations, engineering and safety.
Dirk Ballerstein, Chris Hardy and Ian Fraser remain in post reporting to Mr Stables, as MDs for German rail, and National Express and The Kings Ferry respectively.
Madi Pilgrim, HR Director for UK Bus, becomes UK HR Director responsible for bus and coach divisions.
