John Whitehead, who with his wife Brenda was a director of Rochdale-based Pioneer Travel, passed away of natural causes on Sunday 10 February.
Mr and Mrs Whitehead founded the business in 1984. It is in the process of being closed down following Mr Whitehead’s death.
Pioneer operated a mixture of local bus service, private hire coaches and latterly rail replacement duties.
Mr Whitehead leaves one daughter and six grandchildren. No details of the private, family-only funeral have been released yet, but it will be followed by a celebration of his life.
