Ticketer has appointed Richard Blackburn-Hughes to the newly created Head of Commercial position.
Having started his career as a strategy consultant for technology businesses and with a keen personal interest in the public transport, Ticketer says that Mr Blackburn-Hughes is well placed to help the supplier to “continue to launch exciting new innovation within the industry.”
He has been with Ticketer since 2021, when he joined to take responsibility for the supplier’s strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Mr Blackburn-Hughes is already a familiar face within the bus industry, having built many relationships with both operators and suppliers in his previous position to shape Ticketer’s partnership programme.
Ticketer says that through that work, Mr Blackburn-Hughes “has been able to offer even more value and open further opportunities for operators and local authorities, from intermodal travel to new channels for ticket sales.”
Speaking about his new position, Mr Blackburn-Hughes says: “Since joining Ticketer and having had the pleasure of talking to many operators, I have come to appreciate the vital role that Ticketer plays for its customers.
“I am excited about deepening those relationships and finding ways to continually innovate for our customers. We have some exciting developments on the horizon which I am looking forward to sharing in the coming months.”
Adds Ticketer Founder John Clarfelt: “We are delighted to welcome Richard to the role of Head of Commercial. We are incredibly excited to see how his leadership skills and proven experience will shape this new position, alongside the passion and enthusiasm that he has already demonstrated for our industry.”
