Sian Leydon has been named Chief Operating Officer by the Go-Ahead Group. She will take up that newly-created position in July and join from Arriva, where she was most recently Managing Director for mainland Europe.
Before Arriva, Ms Leydon’s career captured senior roles across sectors such as aviation, utilities, and management consultancy.
Those exercised skills including operational leadership, strategy, transformation, customer focus, engineering, finance, and general management. She is also an independent advisor on the board of EDF Energy Nuclear Generation.
In the position of Chief Operating Officer, Ms Leydon will join the Go-Ahead executive leadership team. She will oversee operational performance, service reliability and customer experience across the group’s international portfolio that extends from Ireland to Australia.
Speaking on the appointment of Ms Leydon, Go-Ahead Bus CEO Matt Carney says: “Sian’s experience scaling complex transport operations across multiple markets will be critical as we strengthen performance and expand internationally.
“Her experience across regulated infrastructure and transport businesses will support Go-Ahead’s focus on sustainable growth, and we are delighted that she is joining us.”
