Transdev has offered the first of a series of tributes to local NHS teams and key workers in the North of England in the form of a special ‘heroes’ bus.
The Harrogate Bus company, alongside the Harrogate Advertiser, created a specially liveried ‘Harrogate heroes’ Bus in honour of the role of NHS staff and key workers in the region.
The bus dons a blue NHS heart, rainbow, and photos of local health service staff and key workers nominated through social media.
Photos of drivers, engineers and support staff from Transdev’s Harrogate headquarters also appear on the rear of the bus in honour of the bus operator’s own teams, and to their vital work in keeping transport links open for key workers.
Further ‘heroes’ buses are planned across Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Alex Hornsby, Transdev CEO, says: “Our drivers and support teams know first-hand how important it is to keep on serving local people.
“There are many unsung heroes doing all kinds of jobs right now who deserve our community’s thanks, and so we recognise them by covering our ‘heroes’ buses with their photos along with the jobs they do. Our amazing NHS workers are given pride of place.”
Transdev continues to work with a number of local media organisations across the North of England to invite more nominations for its ‘heroes’ buses.
