Franco Miniero has been appointed Managing Director of Europe and North America by Yutong. He is also Vice-Director of International Business Development at the Chinese manufacturer, which is the world’s largest producer of coaches and buses.
Franco brings the experience of a long career in the automotive industry that began in 1989 in his native Italy with Iveco.
Since then he has held a variety of senior positions with responsibility for international markets with Iveco, Fiat Commercial Vehicles, Irisbus and Scania. Latterly he was Global Sales Director Bus with the Swedish company.
Franco was present at Euro Bus Expo. At the event, he paid tribute to the efforts of UK importer Pelican Yutong, and particularly its success in the midicoach sector with the TC9.
“Registration figures demonstrate that Pelican has done an excellent job, and I believe that the new GT12 coach will allow the Yutong marque to expand into new market segments in the UK.
“Additionally, our range of electric buses also gives a major opportunity. We have built well over 200,000 EVs and I am more than confident that we can make our mark in the UK electric bus sector.”
