On 1 December I will be competing in an ultra-white collar boxing match in aid of Cancer Research UK. This is aimed at professionals who have an intensive eight-week training camp, and fight against someone of similar weight, age, and ability.
The event is at the Peterborough arena, and I will enter the ring as Jody ‘Judgement’ Day
I am currently half way through training and finding it tough, 35 isn’t the best age to take up boxing, and some of the guys in their 20s are fast. After working all day it’s a 90-minute round trip with an hours training in the middle. As the sparring gets more intense, it gets more difficult.
C&G are sponsoring my vest and providing a free coach to the event for the 40 people who have paid for VIP ring-side tables, which has raised £1400.00. I’ve set a Just Giving target of £500, and I currently sit at £90 so I’ve got a way to go, any support would be greatly appreciated
I’m raising money for Cancer Research UK as the statistics on cancer are shocking. Most who read this will have been affected by cancer, and we need to do all we can to fund research into curing and one day preventing it.
