During December 2017, all police forces across England and Wales took part in a crackdown on drink and drug driving and results were alarming, particularly with reference to drugs.
Over 91,000 breath tests were administered returning just 5,922 positive, refused or failed tests.
Drug screening devices were used on 3885 occasions and returned a positive result on 1678 occasions, a positive rate of 43.2%.
D.Tec’s core drug screener, DrugWipe, is type-approved by the Home Office and used by every one of the police forces throughout England and Wales.
At the roadside police are now drug testing 50,000 drivers a year and more than 50% are positive. Many are also driving company vehicles. Can you afford to lose a driver to a 12 month ban or worse – a Corporate Manslaughter case?
Aside from its police work D.Tec is a specialist provider of workplace drug and alcohol testing services to companies of all sizes. Its offerings include policy advice, educational courses and onsite, non-intrusive screening solutions including DrugWipe.
