The fire research project will look at vehicles with Lithium-Ion batteries

Dafo Vehicle Fire Protection is participating in a research project on electric and hybrid vehicle fire risks.

The study started by looking at how fire risks posed by lithium-ion batteries in vehicles should be managed. It maps the fire risks associated with the batteries, and mitigating the consequences of fires.

Once complete, the study will leave Dafo to develop safety solutions, including system design and battery placement.

In particular, it will focus on how fire suppression systems can be adapted to vehicles with lithium-ion batteries.
