Optibus has opened a new office in London that will act as its European headquarters. The move comes as the global artificial intelligence platform for planning, scheduling and rostering continues to expand its presence both in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
Around 20% of Optibus’s employees will work from the Spitalfields location. The office’s work will focus on customer success and solutions engineering for clients that include Stagecoach, Abellio, Vectalia France and Arriva Italy.
Optibus now provides services to operators and authorities in 500 cities. It says that the number of businesses and public agencies that it works with doubled in 2020 despite the pandemic. It expects to double its staff size during 2021.
Adds Optibus General Manager for Europe Dave Joshua, who heads the London office: “We are excited to expand our role in the UK and Europe’s dynamic and essential public transport industry.
“Our new Spitalfields office will create room for our rapidly growing team, enable us to provide enhanced local language support to our clients, and bring our market-leading software platform for public transport to more cities across all countries.”
Adds Optibus Co-Founder and CEO Amos Haggiag: “Efficient, equitable and sustainable transport is at the heart of a thriving city. Optibus helps to realise this vison with ease and speed, leading to more economic opportunities while lowering pollution and congestion. We look forward to bringing these benefits to cities across the UK and Europe.”
