Transport technology and consultancy specialist Velociti Solutions has completed the purchase of ASC Software, which it describes as a leading provider of fleet asset management products.

The acquisition represents “an exciting development for customers, partners and employees of both organisations,” Velociti adds. Combining complementary expertise will enhance its capabilities across the transport and asset management sectors and strengthen the ability to deliver innovative, technology-driven solutions.

Purchase of ASC Software is described as “a significant strategic investment” by Velociti. The consolidation will bolster its position as a provider of software to transport authorities as well as bus and rail operators, and grow the business’s reach into the road freight market.

ASC was founded in 2000. As well as fleet asset management, it is recognised for its presence in software-as-a-service cloud and mobile application-based fleet maintenance solutions to support organisations with improving compliance and reducing costs.

At the core of ASC’s offering is Assetminder. It enables clients to manage the complete lifecycle of vehicle servicing and maintenance, and provides real-time insights, enhanced operational control and improved efficiency, Velociti Solutions says.

That platform is created to meet the needs of fleet maintenance and workshop managers by giving flexible and tailored functionality. Its capabilities include comprehensive maintenance management, live cost analysis, labour optimisation, stock control, and elimination of manual, paper-based processes.

ASC Chief Executive Derek Murray (pictured, left) will join the leadership team at Velociti Solutions to spearhead growth in the road vehicle sector and identify what the buyer says are “further complementary acquisitions” to continue expanding its offering.

Speaking about the deal, Velociti Solutions CEO Jeff Hewitt (pictured, second from right) says that it represents “a significant step forward in our strategy to expand our capabilities within the transport technology sector.”

He continues: “ASC’s expertise in fleet asset management and its innovative Assetminder platform perfectly complement our existing solutions, enabling us to deliver even greater value to our customers worldwide.”
