Timespace Technology has received formal approval for its vehicle CCTV recorders under the R118 (burning behaviour of materials) Regulation, the supplier has announced.
Timespace’s digital video recorders (DVRs) are installed in thousands of coaches and buses worldwide. The E-marks for Timespace vehicle products have been upgraded by the UK Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) to include UN ECE R118 fire safety regulations.
That currently applies to Timespace’s V400 (pictured), V500, X300 and R500 DVRs. Timespace also produces the CANlink engineering data recorder and the Bridge Alert low bridge early warning system. Both of those are additionally now also available with R118 E-Mark approval.
UN ECE R118 approval is required on applicable new passenger vehicles first registered from July 2020.
Says Henry Heylen, Timespace Technology Commercial Director: “We have a reputation for high-quality and reliable equipment. We are delighted to be able to offer our coach and bus products with UK VCA R118 approval. That gives manufacturers and operators yet another reason to choose Timespace vehicle CCTV equipment with confidence.”
