uTrack Software has been named headline sponsor of the Transaid Silver Jubilee London to Paris cycle challenge, which will take place between 21-25 September.
The challenge will see participating riders travel 187 miles from Greenwich Observatory to the Eiffel Tower. They will raise funds to support Transaid’s work in sub-Saharan Africa, where the charity is focused on improving road safety and access to healthcare for rural communities.
uTrack’s team is based in Dublin and Birmingham, with the supplier’s technology helping clients globally to carry over two billion passengers annually on school and regular service buses, coaches, and rail.
Speaking about the decision to sponsor the challenger, Chief Executive Eamonn Hughes says: “uTrack has participated in and sponsored various Transaid events in the past, and seeing the significant milestone of 25 years, we felt it was an ideal opportunity to reengage with a worthy cause.
“Our business has grown significantly since our CEO participated in the London to Brussels cycle challenge in 2014, and we are keen to raise awareness among our team, clients, families and friends of how a transport-related charity such as Transaid is positively impacting the world.”
Transaid Head of Fundraising Florence Bearman adds that the funds committed by uTrack will help the charity to “make it a challenge to remember.” She notes that the sponsorship will mean that “even more of the funds raised will go directly to our programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.”
Support from riders is also high: All space on the challenge have now been filled, but some sponsorship packages remain available. Contact Anna Giavedoni via email for more information on those opportunities.
