Wheely-Safe has signalled growth plans with the creation of a wholly owned Wheely-Safe (UK) franchise. It will be led by Managing Director Ian Maynard (pictured, below).
The UK franchise will manage sales and aftersales for the automotive technology firm in its home territory and it will be followed by others in key international markets. Each franchise will have access to all of Wheely-Safe’s award-winning systems, which combine protection against wheel loss with brake and hub temperature monitoring and an intelligent tyre pressure monitoring system.
Group Managing Director and joint founder of Wheely-Safe Gary Broadfield says that the business is “poised to expand rapidly” in 2023 and that the franchise model “is our most effective route to market on a global scale.”
Wheely-Safe (UK) will operate from its parent company’s existing base in Burntwood, but future franchises will be developed with local distribution partners.
The business’s initial focus for those is key markets in Australasia, Europe and North America. Mr Broadfield adds that Wheely-Safe has already seen regular enquiries from international customers.
Mr Maynard was previously Business Development Manager with Wheely-Safe. In his role leading the Wheely-Safe (UK) franchise, he has been tasked with delivering what the parent says is “ambitious growth” in the domestic market.
Mr Maynard brings over 25 years’ experience in the transport industry, including 16 of those with PPG Industries. Speaking about his appointment, he says: “I am really excited to be heading up the first Wheely-Safe franchise; I have had a fantastic first year with the company, and this new structure will allow me and my team to be 100% focused on our customers.”
