Metric was at the show promoting its “next generation of on-bus smart ticketing solutions” which is set to fully launch in the UK next year.

It presented the latest in ticketing technology with the new SmartQUBE, stating that over 30 year of on-bus ticketing experience has influenced the design of this Electronic Ticketing Machine (ETM).

The inclusively designed device includes an 8ins full-colour, multi-touch screen for enhanced usability.

It features an Android operating system and has integrated communications for real-time information delivery; built-in 4G for real-time information and auto vehicle location data delivery; integrated GPS for auto stage advance; and wi-fi for localised communications.

With real-time two-way communications, the SmartQUBE is always online.

The SmartQUBE incorporates separate mounting for the passenger and driver consoles, allowing for better flexibility and more efficient use of the vehicle cab space.
