Reading Buses work with arts, culture, heritage and education has resulted in it being shortlisting for the Business Champion category at the Reading Cultural Awards.
It has been recognised as a business which has played a major contribution in supporting and developing the arts in Reading.
Reading Buses has built on a rich history of engagement and support for arts in the community. Following the success of Light Up Reading and partnerships with Reading Rep Theatre and John Madejski Academy (JMA), it has built on a strong and growing base of supporting and partnering with arts organisations and education.
Says Martijn Gilbert, Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer: “This is not just a one-off – it’s a growing area of importance to the business.
“We’re supporting and partnering with arts organisations to develop the audience for arts and heritage in Reading – giving back to the community we serve every day.
“We’re reaching out across the whole community to go above and beyond to promote and support the synergy between arts and business to make Reading a more enriched place to live, play and work.”
The winners will be crowned in a glittering ceremony at the Olympia Ballroom, Reading, on 27 June.
