Short extension to existing model gives an additional row of seating while retaining excellent access
Minis to Midis, the Doncaster-based UK supplier of the Noone Turas mini and midicoach range, launched an extended variant of the popular Turas 900 at CBUK that can seat up to 37 passengers.
The 9.5m midicoach is based on a 10.5t GVW Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis and while 37 is its maximum capacity, it can also be built with 33 seats and a rear floor-mounted toilet, says the dealership. Most of the extension is within the wheelbase to avoid upsetting axle weights.
“It’s a ‘bolt-on’ addition to our existing Turas 900 range and we expect the standard-length 33-seater to remain the mainstay of sales,” says Minis to Midis General Manager Paul Gardner.
“The extension adds a new option for buyers that want high capacity while retaining an entrance arrangement that we believe is the best in its class.”
Among a clutch of orders secured by Minis to Midis at CBUK are the first for the extended Turas 900 for UK operators; on display was one for Irish buyer Tony Doyle Coaches.
Retail price for the extended Turas 900 starts at £159,995 and more are currently in build. Meanwhile, the more cost-effective standard-length Turas 900v variant is also doing well, with a number of orders in hand.
