Transport Museum Wythall is offering a long-term stored Leyland Tiger PS1 single decker to a new owner free of charge. It comes with the strict stipulation that it is for continued preservation only.
The Tiger ran for Stratford Blue and carries the registration GUE 247. It was withdrawn in 1960. Arrival at Wythall was in the 1980s and the bus is described by the museum as being in very poor condition. It lacks main running units, making it “a big but satisfying challenge.” The rear axle, prop shaft and one half-shaft are present.
The body is also in a poor state, although the bus has been stored undercover for most of its time at Wythall.
Running units are likely to be available within the classic bus movement, the museum adds.
Naturally, the Leyland Tiger will need to be transported via low-loader to its new home. Interested parties should contact Dave Taylor by email at dave.taylor@wythall.org.uk
