Supplier Arriva Bus and Coach (ABC) launched overhauled examples of the Temsa new model MD9 and HD12 coaches at Coach & Bus UK.
The 12.1m HD12 (pictured) has seen the most work. Restyling and the addition of xenon headlights has been complemented by upgraded suspension and the transition to DAF’s latest-generation MX-11 engine and the ZF EcoLife Coach automatic gearbox.
ABC Head of Product Steve Fletcher says that the HD12 is expected to deliver improved fuel returns thanks to the new driveline. DAF’s work on the MX-11 means that the coach’s rear axle ratio has been adjusted to reduce the engine speed in top gear. Unladen weight has also been reduced.
Inside, higher-specification Inova seats are fitted as standard, with USB charging points. Saloon lighting has been improved and the dash binnacle now creates all dials digitally.
“Temsa has made lots of changes to the HD12. It is now a true touring coach,” says ABC Senior Commercial Manager for Sales and Commercial Paul Gardner.
He adds that to the specification described, the HD12’s retail price is £225,000. The dealer can also offer the model with PSVAR certification via a conversion process that includes a side-mounted lift.
Also on display was the UK’s first restyled MD9. It is for Pulham’s Coaches of Bourton-on-the-Water.
Temsa is keen to grow its presence here, says Chief Sales Officer Hakan Koralp. “ABC has been an outstanding sales partner for the past 13 years. It is essential to emphasise that the UK has our utmost commitment.”
