Minis to Midis founder Alan White, 65, has died from cancer. He leaves his brother Steve, wife Kathryn and sons Tim and Jamie White and Paul Gardner.
The Doncaster-based family-run business continues as usual.
The family is following Alan’s wishes of having a private family-only funeral.
Alan entered the industry in the early 1980s as a driver with Doncaster’s Leon Motor Services and in 1985 joined Coachcraft, a vehicle conversion business that also ran coaches.
He then joined Europa Coaches as Sales Manager, before founding Autobus Classique, which was sold to Optare in 1996 where he remained until 2004, when he set up Alan White Coach Sales, soon becoming the UK sales agent for Esker.
He founded Minis to Midis in 2004, and it expanded rapidly after the closure of Esker in 2009.
Says Paul Gardner: “In line with my father’s wishes the funeral will be a private and family affair.
“In his parting wishes he asked that any acknowledgement for support be in the form of a donation to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice hospice where one of his grandchildren attends.
“Cards of condolence are welcome to the business address and we will pass them on to Kathryn and the family.”
