Operator’s 54-coach fleet at its London base is now on 100% Scania chassis with latest Irizar deliveries
City Circle has taken delivery of 20 new Scania Irizar coaches as it cements its relationship with the chassis manufacturer.
Now the coaches are in service, all 54 vehicles at the operator’s London base are Scanias. 18 of the latest batch are 13.2m tri-axles on the K 410 underframe and two are 10.8m examples on the K 360 chassis. All carry Irizar i6S bodywork seating 53 and 36 passengers respectively.
All 20 coaches have wi-fi and USB charging points for every passenger. Additionally, the 10.8m examples each have a rear servery fitted by AD Coach Systems.
Says City Circle MD Neil Pegg (pictured): “Since I began working with Scania, I’ve been impressed with its product and service. We have gone on to have a very strong relationship.
“We have a high-profile client base, so I need to ensure that we have products that we know are reliable. We often run at 100% fleet utilisation, so it’s important to have coaches that we can trust.”
City Circle’s new Scania Irizars have the chassis manufacturer’s OnBoard telematics product, which is provided on a complimentary basis for 10 years on all retail coach deliveries.
It records driver and vehicle performance and reports directly to the customer by email on a weekly basis. City Circle has also taken advantage of the driver and technical training that is made available to all retail buyers of new coaches.
