Scottish Citylink offers 20% discount to Scotland rugby fans for Quilter Nations matches

Scottish Citylink will offer a 20% discount on scheduled coach travel to supporters heading to and from the Scottish Gas Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh to watch the Scotland rugby team play matches in the Quilter Nations Series in November.

The reduction also applies to the day before and the day after those games to give flexibility in spectators’ planning. The coach provider is working with Scottish Rugby on the incentive, which it says will help to promote public transport use from across the nation.

A Volvo 9700DD coach has gained a special livery to promote the offer. It was recently welcomed to the stadium by players Pierre Schoeman and Grant Gilchrist. Scottish Rugby will provide the discount code to matchday ticket holders.

The Quilter Nations Series involves Scotland, Argentina, New Zealand, Tonga and the United States. All games will be played at Murrayfield.

Speaking about the initiative, Scottish Citylink Managing Director Simone Walsh says: “It is great to be teaming up with Scottish Rugby in this way to provide an even more affordable way for Scotland rugby fans from across the country to get to matches by public transport.

“With tens of thousands of people travelling to Scottish Gas Murrayfield on matchdays, we look forward to playing our part in delivering reliable, high-quality travel for supporters to enjoy their rugby experience as much as possible, and of course, we hope they can round off their trip with a win for Scotland!”

Adds Mr Gilchrist: “I am really looking forward to the matches this autumn. There is always a special atmosphere in the city ahead of these games.

“The backing we receive on a matchday from our fans is incredible, and we are grateful for the support of Citylink, which will be helping fans to get to Murrayfield to cheer us on. We have four big games on the horizon, and we are looking forward to the challenges that await.”
